Historic to Willow Glen, this ice cream shop is one of the best I've ever been to. The only downside is that everyone else knows how good this place is and it is more common than not to find the line starting out the door and wrapping down the sidewalk.

I've always gotten their chocolate frozen custard, but as of late, they haven't had it on their menu. A bummber but something on their menu piqued my interest: Chocolate Fantasy.
So it wasn't frozen yogurt -- it was ice cream -- but I figured I'd give it a whirl because I don't discriminate when it comes to frozen treats. And wow, was it a chocolate fantasy come true! Fudge swirled through the creamy milk chocolate ice cream... mouthgasm to the max! If you're down to mix it with a fruity ice cream, pair it with their coconut pineapple!

I know it isn't fair since I just had Bi-Rite and declared their Salted Caramel the best ice cream I ever had. There is very little doubt in my mind that this fro-yo Ice Cream joint in Willow Glen is no competition. Still, 4.5 stars with over 400 reviews is a promising sign. I was secretly hoping to be surprised.
At the end I am still slightly disappointed. The ice cream is nice but it does not compare to other 4-4.5 stars ice cream joints in the city.
Firstly I was not totally happy with the flavor selection. The list is long but all they have is just the tradition standard fare - flavors you can find in just about any ice cream store. Guess I was spoiled with special flavors in places like Humpry Slocombe or Polly Ann. In addition, the texture of the ice cream is thick, creamy but not soft enough. I had their strawberries and cream and the flavor is on the weaker side. One thing I do like is the good selection of toppings. I picked cookie dough and the 'topping' was packed at the bottom, middle and the top. You get a good chuck of it with every bite of your ice cream.
Willow Glen Frozen Yogurt is a nice neighborhood ice cream joint. Is it worth making a trip it? Probably not.
