The Windsor Court touts itself as “New Orleans’ Most Gracious Luxury Hotel,” and if you’ve got the cash to spare, why not enjoy the luxuriousness? The Grill Room inside the hotel is one of New Orleans’ only four-star/four-diamond restaurants, and with menus that change seasonally, even daily, they use the freshest seafood, red meats, poultry, fruits, and vegetables in season. If you can, try the Foie Gras Cush Cush appetizer for a unique taste. Also, their impressive wine selection (featuring over 600 labels) has won them the Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence, so ordering a glass or two would be most wise.

The Windsor Court feels pristine from the moment you clear the high gate around its secluded front drive; it's probably the only hotel along Canal that has more than plain old city curb to greet its guests. It's pristine and airy throughout, the very picture of a luxury hotel. The bar is just as quintessential, evidenced by the fact that it's actually just named Cocktail Bar. Mixologists hearken back to historic classics with modern twists, like the Windsor Swizzle with tropical hibiscus-pineapple syrup. Oh, and it's gorgeous, too.

Wall-to-wall green marble floors and a painting collection worthy of a museum greet you when you stay at the Windsor Court. Arguably one of the best hotels in New Orleans, Windsor has been on world-wide top 10 lists since it's opening, and has played host to numerous Presidential Stays, foreign dignitaries, and traveling acts. (If you're here during the Holidays, come in and check out their decorations.)
