Visited when I was very young. I remember it being pretty cold there. We did go catfish fishing near by and caught some amazing fish

Such a cold and windy City in the Winter time, when I arrived there! Freezing cold, in fact, and with it being out on the Prairies gets the brunt of the cold wind which adds to the wind-chill factor. Brrr!!

I live in Winnipeg, and although it gets a bad review from the rest of the country, I can say (from someone who has seen most of Canada and the USA), that it is a wonderful place to call home!

I have lived in Winnipeg, Manitoba all my life...up until the last 7 years...There is WAY more to see and do than what is listed! So if there is ANYTHING that you would like to know, just let me know :)

what a gem of a city in the middle of the prairies. The Forks are mandatory when in the 'Peg. found lots of entertainment. Pro sports, casinos. crusies. shopping.

Description

At Canada's geographic center, Winnipeg was once an aboriginal trading post and the historical gateway to the prairies, where “the West began”. Still a crossroads of sorts, the now thriving metropolis on “The Forks” of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers is a major transportation hub with a diverse economy. Home to Winnie-the-Pooh, roller derby, and jazz and folk festivals, there are over 100 languages ... read more
spoken in the city, including several First Nations. Cheer on the Manitoba Moose at the Winnipeg Arena, explore the largest collection of Inuit art at the Winnipeg Art Gallery, and dine at the Salisbury House Restaurant upon the Esplanande Riel, a pedestrian-only cable-stayed bridge. A Mecca for the arts and sports, windy Winnipeg is a city on the rise.
