I'm giving five stars for the whole area not necessarily the town. Winthrop is a lovely little town modeled after the old west circa 1890. But it is just one of the reasons the entire Methow Valley is beautiful. With 3 rivers, the Methow, Twisp and Chewuch winding through this valley under a huge sky that always manages to have fluffy white clouds this is America at it's best. (Dramatic sounding I know but when your there you will feel it too)
Come for the hiking, fishing, camping, rafting, and mountain biking. Then the town of Winthrop is a nice reprieve. Someplace to stay, or dine out.
