This would be a 5-star hotel in my book, if they didn't charge outrageously for self-parking. Otherwise, we were impressed by the mod contemporary rooms, the swimming pool and the ultra-convenient proximity to the performing arts center, shopping and the freeways. Bid on Priceline, and you might get your room for only about $75.

This hotel has a surprisingly warm and welcoming feel to it, despite being in the middle of a highly urbanized area. Speaking of the area, this hotel is located next to the Orange County Museum of the Arts which is within walking distance. The rooms especially made the guests feel as though they had never left home boasting wood floors and warm neutral colors. Despite the homeliness, this hotel still offers all of the modern amenities that all guests need including the ultra-modern chairs in the business center as well as the hotel bar and restaurant. With a central location of Costa Mesa, guests are within short driving distance to all of the Orange County beaches.

The location is great. The Orange County Performing Arts Center is across the street, and South Coast Plaza is within walking distance. The friendly staff offered warm greetings and seemed to know everything about the history of the hotel and had extensive knowledge of the local area.

The rooms are spacious, modern and spotless. The cleanliness of the room make guests feel like they are the first persons to ever touch the linens. Hard wood floors make guests feel at home.

Everything at the hotel seemed top-notch. The business center boasts white leather chairs and chrome lampshades. A new fitness center includes great equipment and a dry sauna. A lake creates tranquility outside of the hotel.

My only gripe is the 32-inch TV in the room - a bit small considering the luxuriousness of the rest of the room amenities.

We just spent the weekend here at the Wyndham Orange County (January 2011) and it was over and beyond our expectations. Our lakeview room overlooked the courtyard and we felt totally secluded even though we obviously weren't. Our room had hardwood floors, a Marble bathroom, and a huge flatscreen TV. We even had a fully sliding glass door with a mini balcony. Just enough room to step out and enjoy the view. Everyone working at the hotel was very accomodating. Parking is do-it-yourself and only $15 per day! You just use your room key for in& out priveleges and Voila! When we asked for taxi service a very sweet man came to get us in a towncar. There's a hot little bar right there in the front lobby too - complete with a fireplace and bistro tables or a gorgeous granite countertop where you can shoot the breeze with the awesome bartender! Top notch hotel without the top notch room rates.
