Parts of the ruined Baths of Diocletian provided the building material and setting for this church, constructed by Michelangelo in 1563. An exhibition in the sacristy gives a detailed account of Michelangelo's original design.

This is actually a pretty chill, laid back bar. I'm only speaking of the bar area, not the B&B. They make really good kamikazee's, or any mixed drink rather. That's more their specialty than beer. It's darkly lit, and not too loud, but not quiet enough that you hear aeveryone else. There's no dancing, but there is light music playing. ...

The Trevi Fountain is currently undergoing restoration. The fountains are empty and blocked off. Not worth visiting at the moment, though surely beautiful when they're back on.

It took us a while to find the Spanish Steps. Of course at the base of the steps is Piazza di Spagna (Spanish plaza). In the evening, the lights bring this square to life. There were quite a few people here when we visited but from the other photos, it's especially busy during the day. The nice thing is that ...

Gorgeous green space. There are bits that look like Central Park, and it's a shame not more people jog through here (or maybe that's better so runners have more space). There's a cute little "casina" to have lunch or a midafternoon merenda. The view you want, however, is from the In fact, I wonder if it's better than the ...

Beautiful church with high, ornate ceilings and countless altars. It's elaborate and grand and makes you feel small without making you feel insignificant. It's a little known fact that the tomb of Gianlorenzo Bernini rests here; blink and you could miss the step indicating its location. It's also said that there are remnants of Jesus' baby crib kept here, though ...

We could not speak of Villa Borghese without considering the Borghese Museum and Gallery. On the ground floor and displays sculptures, while on the upper floor the Gallery collects paintings.

Another Michelangelo's masterpiece is found in this particular church; and it's the statue of Moses. Not so grand but the details are incredibly impressive, that even Michelangelo himself said: "Talk Moses! TALK!"

I feel kind of weird saying this place is beautiful, but in a way it truly is - the bones are displayed in such unique, intricate patterns that it almost feels like art. Then you realize exactly what you're looking at and it becomes a little creepy. I thought the Crypt of the Leg Bones and Thigh Bones (real name) ...

The palazzo in front of the Presidential Palace offers some good view from the height of the Quirinale hill. There are also goings on related to the President but what the marching and other things were, I could not figure out.

These four fountains on the corners of an intersection in the Quirinale is one of the many small pleasures to be discovered while walking in Rome. Not really worth the trip on their own, but if you go to the intersection, you will be next to Boromini's church San Carlino, which is well worth the trip.

Founded in 1889 the museum holds most of the antiquities found in Rome since 1870 as well as existing collections of classical arts. The exhibits displayed in the Palazzo Massimo near the central Termini are originals dating from the 2nd century BC to the end of the 4th century AD. On the 2nd floor particularly are decorations from public buildings ...
