Yaletown is the latest cool spot for food and entertainment in Vancouver. What used to be warehouses and train depot is now a hip neighborhood with many restaurants, lounges and bars with pricey condos to boot. Kind of reminds me a lot of the SOMA in SF.

It use to be a warehouse area with nothing really. Since the late 90s it has been developed to restaurants, residential, parks, stores. The heritage buildings you see brings a small community and tight community together.

This neighbourhood is unlike any other in Canada - filled with brand-new high rises at every turn. The culture of the neighbourhood is distinctly "west-coast yuppie", filled with tiny dogs, women in yoga pants and tons of "health food" eateries. Good place to hang out and people watch. TONS of yoga and fitness studios here. There are also a couple of notable places to eat and some lovely dog-friendly parks.
