I love Yardbird. It's kind of under the radar for people visiting Miami. It's trendy Southern soul food, which is an awesome mix. They have really fun drinks served in Mason jars. You can get fried chicken and waffles done in a gourmet way. The atmosphere is fun and it's a great scene. Minus a star because we arrived just a few minutes past our res and ended up waiting forever!Recommended for:Trendsters

Southerners know all about luxury travel and food too. If you've been torturing yourself over left-over pasta while watching food porn on the Food Network, it's time to jet-set to Miami Beach and crawl over to Yardbird for some authentic, gourmet Southern food at its finest. You won't believe how good mac n cheese can really be. They must put crack in all the sauces...wait, there's another word for that...I think it's called bacon. In any case, the food and drinks are excellent, so whatever you do in Miami, make sure you put Yardbird on your itinerary, because you know you'll be famished after that helicopter auction.

I would drool just by the mentioned of this place! The food was absolutely delicious! I don't think I can ever come back to Miami without coming here! It would be a crime! To top it off, the service we had was superb. We ordered the chicken and waffles, fried green tomatoes, and grits. I was in love with everything! I wish I had five stomachs to take in all of the food! Please go here! It will not disappoint. :PRecommended for:Foodies

What a way to end the trip, honestly the best last meal we all could have had before departing beautiful Miami. We came in for brunch and luckily, as hungry as we may have been, the waiter suggested we share entrees. He said it holds true to real southern cooking and every dish is meant to be share. DO order the Shrimp and Grits and DO order the Fried Chicken and Cheddar Waffles. I'm not a big fan of grits but they load it with shrimp and bacon in this savory peppery sauce that just heightens the flavor (or for me usually grits have no flavor) of the grits. The chicken and waffles were hands down the best I've ever had. The batter wasn't too thick and it contained a lot of seasoning. Accompanied with the watermelon, pickled relish with your cheddar waffle, it was the perfect combination of savory and sweet enough for 2-3 people to share! The Fried Green Tomato with a generous portion of Pork Belly is a great appetizer to add to your meal, alongside with a Blackberry Bourbon Lemonade. If you have room left for dessert, which you must attempt to try to do, order the Mud Pie! When you step in, you definitely feel the southern hospitality. Even the manager came by to wish us well.

Proudly Southern dishes meant for sharing adorn the menu at this brand-new darling of Miami Beach, which won numerous Best New Restaurant accolades for 2012. With creative yet comforting dishes like strawberries and ricotta with pickled radish or sweet tea-brined Southern ribs, in this case, we're happy to follow the crowd.

I heard about Yardbird shortly after it opened through Tasting Table -- and I was planning a trip to Miami, I knew I had to stop in. In fact, I ended up going twice during the three days I was there.
In a word, Yardbird is amazing. The space itself is gorgeous -- open and airy with a rustic yet chic feel. Wonderfully welcoming. The staff -- from the hostess to my incredible waiter, to the awesome bartender -- were pitch perfect.
And the food! And the cocktails! The waiter and bartender (first time there and second time there, respectively) worked with me to pick a few things out, and all was melt in your mouth good. The cocktails were perfectly balanced, interesting and just plain delicious.
As it has gotten a lot of great press, I'd say your best bet is to make a reservation -- but during the week, you might be able to snag a seat at the bar too.
If you're in Miami Beach, you have to stop in.
