In the Yau Tsim Mong district, located on the western Kowloon (nine dragons) peninsula, sits the high-energy tourist destination Yaumatei. One of three major areas, combined in 1994, Yaumatei is densely populated. The community is studded with old residential developments, markets and souvenir shops.
