This is one of my favorite places that I have ever been. The valley is a spectacular site (in the truest sense of the word). If you are a nature lover, or an outdoor type, then this is a lifetime must see. There are lots of trails to hike, some easy some challenging. I did a back country hike a long time ago that is one I will never forget.

You always see those visit California commercials on TV and have to admit, California has much to offer for many visitors. One of my favorite places in the summer is Yosemite and I can associate many fond child and adult memories to it. You can practically do everything here and for not a lot of money. We usually stay at House Keeping because it's not as rugged as camping in tents and it's not as spoiled as a hotel, and yet you still get to enjoy the wilderness. House Keeping is a tent with beds and it's own patio set up so you can cook and camp fire still. They have all kinds of rentals available and we'll usually spend a day renting rafts going down and bbq-ing or we'll rent bikes and explore. We also spend a good portion hiking the falls, it's an amazing view and it's free! At night be sure to sit out at the camp fire drinking, roasting mashmellows, and just telling stories underneath all the stars. If you have kids they even have a few places with pools. You can even take their bus around the loop to get to places and there's also things to do like visit the store or museum. Due to San Jose's pollution and all the city lights, you don't get to see all the stars like you would out here, it takes your breathe away! Make sure you make a stop and get a glimpse of Half Dome, it's their most famous landmark there.

Yosemite is one of the most beautiful national parks you can go to. Half Dome, Mono Lake and the numerous hikes make this a great park. The large amount of visitors per year do make this place crowded, so watch out!

After Glacier National Park, Yosemite is my favorite national park. It is beautiful with a lot of great trails for hiking. Check out El Capitan, which is one of the country's most iconic waterfalls.

Gorgeous views. Great hikes. Don't plan on staying in the park unless you book over a year in advance or stay at one of the very pricy hotels within the park. Plenty of hotels around the park if you book a few weeks in advance. I highly recommend this national park for everyone who visits California. Can't wait to come back..!!
