My girlfriend and I really loved staying at Yotel in NYC, we thought the room had everything we needed, and the size wast ever much of a worry. We did find ourselves walking plenty to get around, as it's a bit far east of Manhattan. The club was alright as well, but a bit quiet while we were there.

Yotel NYC is a really quirky hotel, whose innovative designs had my head spinning. With its unconventional suites resembling cabins, Yotel truly offers an unique experience for the Times Square tourist looking for accommodation.

Yotel is a very cutting edge, quirky hotel near Times Square for a very reasonable rate. Futuristic atmosphere with efficient use of small spaces. Supposedly they have a very popular rooftop filled with cool, backpacker types lounging around on the terrace. http://www.yotel.com/hotels/new-york-city/.

Very helpful staff.
Internet available in room and at computers located on fourth floor.
We had problems printing tickets to Ground Zero memorial site, and the staff was very helpful.
Complimentary "breakfast" is a sugarloaded muffin. A healthier alternative would be if they would serve a bagel.
The hotel is in a nice walking distance from Times Square, but it took us a while to find the most suited path to walk (some streets were not ideal for pedestrians). If you ask the staff (which we didn't) I am sure the directions they will give you are for the best path.
The hotel is also located in or close to Hell's Kitchen, with a vast variety of restaurants. You can select to have food from different parts of the world, and you won't have to eat the same place twice.
The worst thing about Yotel was that the Galley (room on each floor with complimentary tea/coffee, and vendingmachine with cold drinks) was inaccessible. But your key gives you access to the Galley on any floor.

Stayed there the first night they opened. Self check-in, multiple social areas to hang out similar to a W (including a spacious outdoor bar), small but cool rooms with adjustable beds. Fun and vibe and decor (white and purple, sort of spaceship-like).
