Good food - southwestern cuisine meaning from Tex-Mex to Californian. The entrées are well-made and original. I recommend this to anyone looking for an enjoyable and tasty meal. Great margaritas, too.Recommended for:

Z'Tejas serves mexican food with a twist that is not quite tex-mex. The food is not always consistent, but when they do it right it is pretty tasty. I like their appetizers the best, but some of the main entrees like the diablo chicken. With the addition of all the other amazing restaurants in Austin, you dont need to include this to your first visit, but if you happen to make it though you will have an okay meal.

There are lots of great Tex-Mex places in Austin, and Z-Tejas is a favorite. Great margaritas, fabulous enchiladas with fresh, high quality ingredients. Good at accommodating large parties and the 6th Street location has a deck built around an old Texas oak tree.

Meh. Cute enough location, and they bring out a little pan of fresh cornbread in a cast iron skillet! That was the best part. The food wasn't memorable; as a matter of fact, I couldn't even remember what I ordered until a second ago! I had a salad with corn, black beans, Mexican cheese, guacamole, and lettuce. It was a decent salad, but I probably wouldn't return.
