Malibu is lined with miles and miles of beaches, some with easy public access and some that private landowners would like to keep to themselves. But almost everyone can agree that this beach is one of Malibu's best. It's a drive north of town along Hwy 1, but worth the trip for sun and sand.

This is by far my favorite beach that I've been to in LA as of yet. There is so much space to spread out, even when it's crowded, and you are guaranteed a dolphin sighting. The waves can get pretty big sometimes, but if you don't swim too far out you'll be fine. And two thumbs up for free parking on the side of the road!

Nice,Wide, clean. Good for surfing and families. You can often see dolphins there between 11am and 12 pm near booth #9.

Zuma Beach in Malibu is a great family friendly beach with lots of white sand and clean water. I'd avoid Venice Beach with a little one (syringes and a large homeless population). Zuma Beach has free street parking but there aren't restaurants nearby. The perfect opportunity to have a beach picnic.

Zuma is a great beach to go to. Here you will feel like you have really gotten away. 21 miles up the coast via the Pacific Coast Highway. Pack a lunch and head out for the day.

Just turn right on Sunset and keep going until you hit the water. Keep an eye out for outcropping of rocks along PCH if you want to go tidepooling.

The sand is clean and feels great between my your toes. It is appropriate for all ages and has a variety of things to do and a places close by to eat. The surf is great, never too crowded. I have seen both dolphins and seals in the water. It was a great time and I can't wait to go back.

Nice local beach to go to for the day, but if you take the time to drive further you can find better beaches.
