If you're at all into photography, you'll go crazy here! The island is known for its lace production, but more important, all the pretty colors they paint the houses--it reminded me more of a village in Mexico than anywhere in Italy. It's also one of the farther-away islands from Venice, so a good excuse for a long scenic ferry ride!

Island of great food and great color! There is a fabulous gift shop for alcohol and sweets, as well as pasta sauces and Italian delicacies right on the main strip of the island. I can't remember the name of it right now, but I will come back to it.

Burano is an island in the Venetian Lagoon. It is situated near Torcello at the northern end of the Lagoon, and is famous for its lacework. It is 7kms from Venice, a 40 minute trip by Vaporetti. Burano is also known for its small, brightly-painted houses, popular with artists.

Burano is a cute little island near Venice. It used to be the lace-maker's island, but now it's mostly fishermen and tourist's shops.
The brightly colored houses are worth the visit as are a few good restaurants.

If you have enough time, take a tour trip to the surrounding islands, specially Burano, as this provincial town is filled with charm by her multicolored houses and simple way of live. Eventhough there is no particular attraction or entertainement, it is highly recommended for photography lovers.

It is one of the small islands to be visited in Venice. It is famous for its colorful houses, that are not so rich and beautiful as those in Venice , but are really funny to see. This island is famous for laces.
