I was looking forward to Grand Prismatic from the first time I saw a picture of it. This hot spring is absolutely beautiful and I have never seen anything like this in my travels. There are several other hot springs surrounding this but the Grand Prismatic takes the cake. The colors are phenomenal and it's truly a unique thing to experience. I took a ridiculous amount of pictures of this and they do not do it justice. This is definitely a must-see in Yellowstone. You will not regret stopping to admire the unique beauty of Grand Prismatic.

Amazing steaming pool about 2 football fields across with every color of the rainbow. Behind the pool there is a trail to get an aerial view, which I would highly recommend.

I would put this high on your To-Do List in the park! The view from the boardwalk is...well, there isn't much of a view at all from the boardwalk. I would highly recommend seeing Grand Prismatic Spring from the hill beside it. To get to it, go to the Fairy Falls Trailhead just a mile or so down the road from the entrance to the Midway Geyser Basin. Walk about a mile from the trailhead, and you'll see a trail going up the side of the hill to your left. It's a bit steep, but if you can manage the climb to the top of the hill, the view from this vantage point is incredible!Recommended for:Outdoor Enthusiasts

Grand prismatic spring is something really impressive. Colours are strong and in contrast between soil and water. It was a very hot day when I visited it but still I spent half an hour looking at dense turquoise, feeling like to be on another planet.

Because of the minerals and varying temperatures, there are so many different amazing colors formed in the aptly named Grand Prismatic Springs. The steam surrounding the pools also gives this area a mystical feel. This is my favorite part of Yellowstone Park.
