    Hostelling International

    Hostelling International

    5
    4 reviews

I my write about luxury travel but have been known to indulge in a little bit of hostel action, once in a great while. As hostels go, this one is probably the best I have seen in terms of cleanliness. The staff was great and I would not hesitate recommending this to budget travellers.

    Hotel Queen Mary

    Hotel Queen Mary

    Hotel Class:
    4
    6 reviews

The Queen Mary is a landmark for us living in LA. During Halloween they have a pretty cool maze and during new years eve there is always a handful of different parties. Sometimes the city will allow concerts outdoors, but as far the hotel itself, there's nothing special about it. It's definitely a piece of history and worth a visit ...

This Westin is just like any other Westin chain hotel. The location is great. It's located close to old town Pasadena (less than 5 minute drive and within walking distance if you want to go out for drinks and not have to deal with driving).

    The Standard Downtown LA

    The Standard Downtown LA

    Hotel Class:
    4
    32 reviews

Pretty much the only boutique hotel in downtown LA (not counting the Japanese-style small hotels in Little Tokyo), the Standard is a tongue-in-cheek, whimsical crash pad for partiers and business travelers both. The skyline-view rooftop bar is extremely popular, especially for happy hour and on weekends. Rooms are priced by size (XS to XL) and have artsy, mod touches that ...

    Mondrian Los Angeles

    Mondrian Los Angeles

    Hotel Class:
    4
    25 reviews

Skybar, the L.A. nightlife staple that's found on the roof of this popular hotel, can be tough to get into, but guests of the hotel are automatically on the guest list. That's reason enough to stay here, but the hotel itself is also quite posh and worth a visit.

The Chateau Marmont is like an oasis in the heart of the city, except for the fact that it's no secret. Definitely an attraction for tourists and celebs alike, the hotel is always busy. Yet, it also allows a simple jaunt to UCLA's campus and college-crowd indulgences like Diddy Reise's decadent ice cream and ...
