Though Montreal is where French Canada's mod urban street culture is, the romantic history of Quebec City, with its walled Old City, cobblestone streets, grand hotels and Euro-flavored B&B inns, is maybe even more bewitching for first-time visitors. Summer is peak tourist season, but come in spring for the blooming gardens or fall for the colored foliage. Or even wintertime, when the ice hotel and nearby ski resorts are open.

A beautiful quaint little town. Romantic cobblestone streets, friendly faces, wonderful views. The Chateau Frontenac is a gorgeous site that you can't stop to stare at every moment you get.

Check out Quebec City, 2hrs North East of Montreal. Old Quebec is especially nice with its old buildings that dates back from 1608. Good food, great views on the river. A must if you are in the province of Quebec.

Quebec City is the Capital of Quebec province in Canada. It celebrated it's 400th Anniversary as a city in 2008. I'm happy to say that I got a chance to visit this "crown jewel of French Canada" and celebrate with the people of Quebec.

In my opinion, Quebec is one of the most romantic cities in North America. It has the unique feel of being a small city transplanted whole and intact from Europe. We visited in the late October - a little too early for ski season yet after the rush of the summer - and it was perfect. The walled in area of Old Quebec feels just like being in a small town in France. Cosmopolitan, old, beautiful, tempting. French menus, restaurants that also emphasized their wines, flawless service and fantastic, gourmet meals made dining one of the highlights. Some excellent jewelers and artists are located in the old city - making it a perfect couple's place to spend a special weekend.

Never before had I experienced a city so inspired by its culture and so proud of its heritage. The magnificent and proud city of Quebec is the capital of Quebec province and the representation of all that was and still is Quebec. The beautiful city thrives to live between its historical identity of 'New France' while embracing the progression of time. The only remaining originally fortified city, with the UNESCO historical heritage site of Old Quebec, there is so much history still to witness. Whether it's a stroll down the La Rue du Petit-Champlain, a cruise down the Saint Lawrence river, an admiration for the unique Parliament building designed and built in the 17th century, or a scavenger hunt for the historical reminisce of the 'New France', the historical city is absolutely breathtaking and thought provoking.
