St Giles' Cathedral, the High Kirk of Edinburgh, is the principal place of worship of the Church of Scotland in Edinburgh. Its steeple which looks like a crown is a prominent feature. The church is found about a third of the way down the Royal Mile which runs from the Castle to Holyrood Palace. Inside there are helpful volunteers who will explain the history of the church and its role in Scottish history.

The "Mother Kirk of Scotland" St Giles is a classic cathedral set in the heart of old town Edinburgh. While this church is reviered for its historical value it continues to be a working parish with regular Sunday services
