Great luxury hotel. Rooms are very comfortable, with big comfortable beds. The service is great - everyone is super helpful and friendly. Cool lobby bar that is fun to hang out in. Location is central - right next to the MoMA, walking distance from the Embarcadero and Ferry Terminal building, where there are lots of great restaurants, and SoMA. My only complaint is the pool area. The pool is very small, and lacks a hot tub or steam room.

The St. Regis is the ultimate luxury hotel. You definitely get a sense that you're being lavished in luxury when you're inside. The lobby bar area is gorgeous and the interior is sleek and modern - a cool place to take a date for some cocktails. Service is top notch and like all of their other properties, the rooms are plush and high class.

The butler service alone would qualify the St. Regis into our favorite San Francisco luxury hotels list. Add on to that an infinity pool, luxurious spa, several restaurants, and top-notch customer service, and you've got one of the classiest hotels in all of California. The excellent room decor is only matched by their seamless technological additions (control your room through a touch pad), and the hotel's location right in the heart of downtown San Francisco.

My stay: Two nights. 7.29-7.31 Can't comment on price/value as my stay was taken care of by another party.
Hotel: beautifully furnished. Lobby has a bar and a restaurant. Only tried the bar and that was good. A floor or two up and you will find another restaurant, Vitrine. Decent breakfast.
Room: Love it. The restroom is beautiful. The shower is amazing. The rest of the room is furnished nicely. Lots of comfy pillows and the bed was great ONLY complaint is my room door was difficult. I had to give it a real hard shove downward to open the door each time.

It is hard to review the St. Regis Hotel without using works such as "luxurious" and "perfection." Even if you have no reason to stay here, stopping into the restaurant for a great meal or drink is always a good choice.

When the St. Regis first opened in San Francisco six years ago, I heard the lobby bar was a new hot spot. Upon my evaluation at the time, it certainly was. Today the lobby continues to welcome locals and travelers for refreshing cocktails. If one craves more than just cocktails, the back of the lobby houses Ame, a restaurant that honors local ingredients. The dinner menu highlights food from southern Europe and Japan, resulting in an Asian fusion style.
The top 20 floors of the building are residential and the rest of the floors house 260 guest rooms. There are several room categories starting at Superior all the way up to the Presidential Suite, which means there is a room for every type of traveler. The stylish rooms overlook the city and offer great views, especially in the rooms with floor to ceiling windows.
The hotel is located smack downtown, which means leisure guests have easy access to Union Square, Yerba Buena Park and the Ferry Building. It is literally next door to the MOMA as well. For business travelers, the location is ideal as it’s across the street from the Convention Center. If a convenient location and modern style appeal to you, the St. Regis will fit the bill perfectly.
Virtuoso 2013 amenities include: upgrade at time of arrival, subject to availability, daily breakfast, lunch for two in Vitrine restaurant, once per stay.Recommended for:Business Travelers

If you and your friends are looking for some luxury, the St. Regis is the way to go. From the beautifully appointed rooms, the signature Butler service and the location- the St. Regis is one of SF's best nights stay. If you guys like art, then you cant get any better than this hotel since it is located right next to MOMA. Try their restaurant Ame for a little asian splurge.

I can't say this is my favorite St. Regis in the world but it's up there. The rooms are very elegant and sophisticated with a modern twist. The staff is very accommodating UNLESS you are trying to order food at the bar after a certain time. You will have to get roomservice instead. The bar area is really cosy and the bartenders are awesome. It's in a really convenient area in the city especially if you need to go to Moscone center for a conference.
