It's Halloween 2013, adn this year, we're partying at the Aykut International Halloween Ball @ the Fiarmont Htotel in San Francisco! This year, two ninjas (deadly ninja and Scorpion from Mortal Kombat) descend upon the mery party revelers and wresk havok. Alongside them, Breaking Bad, SWAT, zombies, and the Great Gatsby crew make appearances. Great costumes... and looking forward to Hallowen 2014!

On Nob Hill this is definetly classy and what I think of when San Francisco comes to mind.
The hotel is a bit stuffy but the service is wonderful!
The rooms are spacious with great amenities and it has everything.
One thing I really loved is that the hotel has a car that will take you anywhere within a 5 mile radius for free.

Perched on top of Nob Hill, the San Francisco Fairmont is a historical centerpiece of the city. I have many memories of visiting this hotel throughout my life, from family dinners at Laurel Court to business happy hours at the Tonga Room. Growing up I looked forward to exploring the holiday decorations and gingerbread house with my Mom, and I can’t wait to share the experience with my niece and nephews this year.
The 591 guest rooms are split between the tower and the main building. In the tower, suites are available as signature or deluxe, the difference being the view. The signature suites have a stunning view of the bay while the deluxe suites feature a city view. The main building offers many different suites and specialty rooms that can accommodate couples, families and larger celebrations.
The “Heritage Hallway” showcases the rich history of the hotel, including pictures of celebrities and dignitaries throughout the years. Even President Obama elects to reside at the Fairmont when he is in town. While the hotel just underwent a massive renovation in 2012, they did a fantastic job conserving the traditional décor. This is truly an elegant, sophisticated retreat in one of the most dynamic, beautiful cities in the world (in my local humble opinion).Recommended for:History Buffs

Gorgeously old school, the Fairmont San Francisco is situated on top of the hill and just has that, romantic feeling.
I was here for a wedding, and wow, what a wedding it was. The ballroom was transformed completely and looked just stunning.
I would love to actually stay here but not sure if I can afford it!

I really dig the decor of the Fairmont hotel even though they all seem to look more or less the same from the outside. This one really exemplifies what the Fairmont has always meant to me, a fantastic high class hotel with a wanna-be old world feel and plenty of modern luxury included.
They hosted Gold Rush a few years back which is an exotic cars race similar but on a much, much, much smaller scale to Gumball 3000 so I had the chance to see their coordination, hospitality and luxury skills in action. All three were exceptional from what I can see and their restaurant was delicious and not as much of an arm and a leg like I thought it would be.
I'm a big fan of boutiques in San Francisco only because it really helps me to get away and remind me that I'm not just 54 minutes from home, but this was a treat indeed.Recommended for:Luxury Travelers

This was a surreal experience. We got to stay at the Fairmont Suite, which the Clintons, Romneys, Obamas and many celebrities and world leaders have stayed. The views and the decor in the rooms were sensational. I truly felt like like royalty in every way possible. The hotel itself is very old-world and special in a top-knotch aristocratic way.

If your budget allows it or in need of a splurge, the best place to stay in San Francisco is at The Fairmont San Francisco Hotel, part of the same hotel chain as The Plaza in New York. The shooting location for The Rock and many other prominent movies, The Fairmont is the epitome of old Hollywood glamour, grandeur and elegance. It is royal, timeless and sumptuous. Stay in the same hotel where kings and queens, Presidents, Prime Ministers and legendary movie stars have stayed at, and you will feel equally royal. Located on top of a hill, the views are picturesque.

I got off at the Powell Street BART Station and walked straight up Nob Hill to The Fairmont Hotel. I have never had the pleasure of staying here, but I've attended a few meetings, and as a Tourist have always enjoyed wandering in and being impressed by the elegance of it all, starting with the Lobby.
As a bit of Trivia, this Fairmont was the inspiration (including various shots) for the old Hotel TV Series which ran between 1983 and 1988. The Series was in turn based on Arthur Hailey's 1965 Novel and 1967 Feature Film of the same name. The show was set in the elegant and fictitious St. Gregory Hotel in San Francisco (a switch from New Orleans). Episodes followed the activities of passing guests, as well as the personal and professional lives of the Hotel Staff. Think Love Boat dry docked on top of Nob Hill.
I was here earlier in the Week for a University of Iowa Alumni Reception. This is the State where I am from and the University that I obtained my BSChE. SUI is also where my Grandmother, Dad, Uncle, Brother, and 2 Cousins all graduated. Iowa City represents both family and home for me, although the Universities granting my other 2 degrees (Texas A&M and UC Berkeley) have their own strong attractions.
The reception was held in the ornate Gold Room. I admired the gold-trimmed balconies, had a friendly chat with one of the bar keepers, enjoyed the heavy h'ordeuvres, and relished the partial view towards the Bay. The highlight of the evening was meeting Sally Mason, the President of the University of Iowa, and listening to how much my alma mater has changed and improved. There was no direct contribution solicitation, but that wasn't necessary. The donation match form from my employer will be in the mail shortly.
