Very fun when you lose the maze. Nova Petropolis is a charming and beautiful city as Gramado and also the people are polite. A charming town that is essential to include in the route. I had lunch in a very good restaurant that had the typical German dishes.
We started a tour with a visit to Park Immigrant Village, this place is considered a living monument to German culture. Besides the many natural beauties found in the park, which is the most charming historic village, the village built homes taken through from inside of the city and brought into the park forming a real German village

One of the most beautiful tour in Bento Goncalves which takes to St. Peter's colony, 13 miles from the center. The route run through seven kilometers of 28 stone and wood, creating a scenario that looks to the northern region of Italy.
Along the way, you can purchase colonial products such as cheese, salami, pickles, jams, yogurt, pasta and homemade wine.
There are many travel agencies organize tours there for those doesn't have car.
Bento Gonçalves is a commercial centre in a fertile agricultural region settled by Italians in the late 19th century. Viticulture is the primary economic activity. São Miguel das Missões is reached from Santo Angelo on BR 285 (the road to São Borja, 58km/36mi). In the town, which has been declared a world cultural monument by UNESCO, are the ruins of the church of São Miguel (at present in course of restoration), the only surviving example of mission architecture in Brazil. The church, built between 1737 and 1744, was designed by the Italian Jesuit Giovanni Battista Primoli. It was modeled on the Gesó church in Rome, the mother church of the order, whose façade for centuries influenced the architecture of Jesuit churches throughout the world.
The Castle called as Castelinho in portuguese is beautiful, but is much nicer out of the castle, because you pay R$ 6 reais per person to get in a castle. It is nothing more than a house with antique furniture and the famous apple pie , it is also rip off, R$17 reais for a slice??? the tasty is not so special. Look around the house. It is free and is still much more beautiful.
It's a nice park to spend with friends at the weekend. It can be unsafe at night. There is a small market on Sunday.
On the banks of Lake Guaíba, the Usina do Gasômetro is Porto Alegre's answer to London's Tate Modern. Built 1926-1928 as a thermoelectric station, it was abandoned in 1974 before being converted to showcase art, dance and film in 1992. Its 117-m chimney has become a symbol for the city. There is a café in the bottom of the chimney, and the sunset from the centre's balcony is stunning.
Visiting the state of Rio Grande do Sul, one has the feeling of being in Europe without having ever left Brazil. It is the landscape of meadows brightened by flowers or occasionally whitened by snow. It is the architecture and folk traditions with their German or Italian imprint. The state boasts a diversified cuisine, in which the churrasco, the Brazilian style barbecue, shares the honors with the sophisticated café colonial, a southern version of the English high-tea.
I like to visit the museum. It has a guide that explains about the place that was a warehouse colonized by Germans. The home has objects donated by residents of German descent. It's a great place to learn a little history of the city. It is free.
